Homeowners Choice was founded in 2006 by individuals who were themselves Florida homeowners and recognized the need for a quality, stable and service-oriented homeowners’ insurance provider in Florida. Today we serve over 65,000 policyholders throughout Florida. Our management has worked in the Florida homeowner insurance business for over 25 years and is well acquainted with the problems and challenges of Florida's insurance market.

We are regulated by the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, which oversees the rates, conduct and financial solvency of Florida insurers. We seek to mitigate our risk through a comprehensive reinsurance program by which we transfer substantial portions of our liability and premium to other large insurance companies, including the state-sponsored Florida Hurricane Catastrophic Fund.
